Agra(UP):Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Saturday alleged that donations worth crores made to the Ram temple in Ayodhya had been misappropriated, demanding immediate dismissal of the temple trust and an impartial probe into the alleged irregularities under supervision of a Supreme Court judge.
Addressing a press conference here, Pilot claimed donations to the Ram Mandir had allegedly been diverted instead of being used for the temple.
"There has been theft of crores in donations and offerings made to the Ayodhya Ram temple. People donated on the basis of their financial capacity, but instead of being used for the temple, the money was stolen.
Those responsible for its maintenance were themselves involved," he alleged.
Pilot claimed that "small people" are being implicated in the case while "prominent persons" are being protected.
"The trust should be dissolved immediately and the entire matter should be investigated under the supervision of a Supreme Court judge," he said.
"Embezzling public money is the biggest sin. Those who committed it, those who facilitated it and those who protected -- all must face action," he added.
